Setting up the Actinic Network Setup File

Setting up your Actinic for use with 4surehosting

This guide is based on V9 network setup file for actinic, although you will find that this will work with other versions of Actinic (v7 - v10).

First we will need the username and password for FTP connection, and we need to enter in the details in the network setup file.

Open your network setup file.
The default file should look like this,

HTTPPROXYMODE    0
HTTPPROXYADDRESS
HTTPPROXYPORT    80
HTTPPROXYUSER
HTTPPROXYPASSWORD
FTPPROXYMODE    0
FTPPROXYADDRESS
FTPPROXYPORT    21
FTPPROXYUSER
FTPPROXYPASSWORD
SCRIPTID    1
SCRIPTEXT    .pl
SMTPHOST    mail5.srv.host-it.co.uk
WEBSITEURL    http://www.yourdomain.tld/
IGNOREPASSIVEERRORS    true
USERELATIVECGIURLS    false
PATHTOPERL    /usr/bin/perl
USEENHANCEFTP    true
FTPCLIENTTIMEOUT    55000
FTPRETRYDELAY    3000
FTPKEEPALIVEINTERVAL 30000
FTPSILENT    false
FTPMAXRETRIES    3
FTPCONNECTTIMEOUT    60000
SMTPAUTHREQUIRED    false
SMTPUSERNAME
SMTPPASSWORD
COMPRESSIONPACKETSIZE    1024
COMPRESSEDUPLOAD    true
CATALOGURL    http://www.yourdomain.tld/acatalog/
ONLINESTOREFOLDERNAME    acatalog
CGIBINURL    http://www.yourdomain.tld/cgi-bin/
PATHFROMCGITOCATALOG    ../httpdocs/acatalog/
CODEBASE    ./
FTPHOST    ftp.yourdomain.tld
FTPUSERNAME    username01
FTPPASSWORD    password01
PATHTOCGIBIN    /cgi-bin/
USEPASSIVEFTP    true
FTPPATHFROMCGITOCATALOG    /httpdocs/acatalog/

Now you will need to change the values within the file to reflect you domain and FTP details.

So if your details are as follows,
domain name: newshop.co.uk
FTP username: a1234user
FTP Password: pa55w0rd

You would change Your Network file as follows,

HTTPPROXYMODE    0
HTTPPROXYADDRESS
HTTPPROXYPORT    80
HTTPPROXYUSER
HTTPPROXYPASSWORD
FTPPROXYMODE    0
FTPPROXYADDRESS
FTPPROXYPORT    21
FTPPROXYUSER
FTPPROXYPASSWORD
SCRIPTID    1
SCRIPTEXT    .pl
SMTPHOST    mail5.srv.host-it.co.uk
WEBSITEURL    http://www.newshop.co.uk/
IGNOREPASSIVEERRORS    true
USERELATIVECGIURLS    false
PATHTOPERL    /usr/bin/perl
USEENHANCEFTP    true
FTPCLIENTTIMEOUT    55000
FTPRETRYDELAY    3000
FTPKEEPALIVEINTERVAL 30000
FTPSILENT    false
FTPMAXRETRIES    3
FTPCONNECTTIMEOUT    60000
SMTPAUTHREQUIRED    false
SMTPUSERNAME
SMTPPASSWORD
COMPRESSIONPACKETSIZE    1024
COMPRESSEDUPLOAD    true
CATALOGURL    http://www.newshop.co.uk/acatalog/
ONLINESTOREFOLDERNAME    acatalog
CGIBINURL    http://www.newshop.co.uk/cgi-bin/
PATHFROMCGITOCATALOG    ../httpdocs/acatalog/
CODEBASE    ./
FTPHOST    ftp.newshop.co.uk
FTPUSERNAME    a1234user
FTPPASSWORD    pa55w0rd
PATHTOCGIBIN    /cgi-bin/
USEPASSIVEFTP    true
FTPPATHFROMCGITOCATALOG    /httpdocs/acatalog/

Now all the changes have been made you will need to open up your Actinic and import the new setting and then test.

To import your new setting you will need to go to you network setup section within Actinic then use the import button, when asked for the file point it to the file we just created select ok and then action a refresh website to upload all of your Actinic store.

Alternatively you use one of our wizards or enter in all the details within the Actinic client directly.
